Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s Civic Platform, behind in opinion polls for over a year, would have 18 seats in the European Parliament, with 26 percent of the vote nationwide, according to the poll by TNS Polska.

Their nearest rivals, the conservative Law and Justice (PiS) are just one percentage point behind on 25 percent of the vote and would gain 17 MEPs in the parliament.

The current junior coalition partner Polish Peasants Party (PSL) and the Democratic Left Aliance (SLD) are both on eight percent support - translating into six seats in the European Parliament - with the liberal Your Movement on six percent, or four seats.

Sixteen percent of respondents told the pollster they had yet to decide which party to support in the elections, which will take place throughout the 28-nation bloc between 22 and 25 May. (pg)
