At a joint press conference with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Polish PM Ewa Kopacz stressed that Poland "appreciates the commitment of Germany, and France, for the peaceful resolution of the conflict beyond [Poland's] eastern border”.

“There is a consensus among us to assess the situation and the main objectives of the policy towards Ukraine and Russia,” Kopacz said.

She added that Ukraine must receive special treatment and support, which will give it not only humanitarian aid, but also reforms, which will be intensified in the coming months.

PM Kopacz added that for the first time in mid-May a Polish-German convoy of humanitarian aid will set off for Ukraine. (rg)
