In a statement posted on the Kremlin’s official website, President Putin congratulated Andrzej Duda on his election as President of the Republic of Poland.

The message reads that the “Russian head of state expressed his confidence that building constructive relations between Russia and Poland, based on the principles of good neighbourly relations and mutual respect of interests, would strengthen security and stability in Europe.”

Earlier, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said that Moscow is focused on constructive cooperation with Warsaw and hopes that relations between Russia and Poland will improve.
