UK road accident sees Poles arrested for people trafficking

Two Polish men were arrested over the weekend under suspicion of people trafficking after their van crashed on a UK motorway and a 15-year-old girl was found in an attached caravan.

The incident occurred on the M11 motorway, near Saffron Walden, south east England.

The 15-year-old girl suffered minor injuries in the accident and she was taken to hospital.

“A 42-year-old man and a 19-year-old man, both from Poland, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of dangerous driving and people trafficking,” Essex Police confirmed.

A third Polish man has also been arrested in connection with other immigration-related offences.

The three men have been held in custody and are being questioned by detectives. (nh)
