Most of the tourist resorts to the west of Turkey are safe for holidaymakers, but Poles should be careful when venturing further east, said Grzegorz Schetyna, Polish Foreign Minister.

“We cannot paralyse the entire tourist industry, but be careful especially if you have plans to travel to eastern Turkey,” Schetyna said.
Schetyna said the warning is addressed to people who travel alone and want to explore the less accessible parts of the country.
“We are warning people about the threat on the Turkish-Syrian and Turkish-Iraqi borders. Resorts are safe,” Minister Schetyna told Polish Radio.
“We must be careful, because there really is a war, and the Turkish army has pulled out all the stops.”
Between Tuesday and Wednesday Turkish aircraft attacked six targets belonging to the Kurdish militants from the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) in northern Iraq and southeastern Turkey. (rg/rk)
