Adrian Al L. (surname withheld under Polish legal regulations as the man faces criminal charges), who left Poland and adopted the name of Abu Bakr Al Sham, gave an interview for the current edition of Polish weekly ABC.

“If necessary, I will fight and become a martyr,” he said.

For a Muslim, there is no greater honour than becoming a martyr,” he added.

“The world is full of hypocrites pretending to be religious people,” he argued.

You say that we have you murdered - and you are murdering us every day,” he claimed.

“Every day there is an expedition by crusaders against Muslims.

You are killing women and children and destroying the lives of entire societies.

You started a war on our territory, and now you weep because we have brought it onto yours.”

Adrian Al. L also urged “nonbelievers” to “repent while there is still time.

If not, you will die like all nonbelievers. This is the law of Allah. We win, we will get to Rome and St. Peter's Square will carry out mass executions of infidels.”

It is currently estimated that about 10 Polish citizens are cooperating with or fighting for ISIS. (nh/rk)
