Georgia’s Defence Minister Tinatin Khidasheli met his Polish counterpart Tomasz Siemoniak in Warsaw on Thursday.

Siemoniak said Poland was ready to support the Military Police Capabilities Development Direction, outlined in the NATO-Georgia Substantial Package that is aimed at improving the functions and capabilities of Georgia’s military police.

This was one of several ways Poland will support Georgia, Siemoniak added.

The minister said Poland would help Georgia develop the capabilities of its Armed Forces and provide additional support for Georgian military servicemen regarding English language training courses.

Georgia’s Defence Minister started a 10-day tour of Europe on Thursday to attract international support for the country ahead of the Warsaw NATO Summit next year, at which Georgia aims to be offered a MAP. (jh/rk)
