The convoy is a chance to see American troops and equipment as well as participate in a meet-and-greet event in Rzeszów, south-eastern Poland.

Three American convoys consisting of more than 40 vehicles carrying over 200 soldiers will be escorted by the Polish military police.

Unassisted vehicles will drive through Sochaczew (central Poland), Nowa Dęba (southern Poland), and Rzeszów before passing through Slovakia, Hungary, Croatia, and Slovenia to finish in Vicenza, Italy, about 2,600 km (1,616 miles) in total.

Rail transport from the northern Polish town of Drawsko Pomorskie and road transport from Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia will carry American equipment.

Styker IAVs and cargo vehicles will depart from Poland and head to Vilseck, Germany.

Joint training exercises, called Atlantic Resolve, began last year in reaction to Russian aggression in Ukraine and annexation of Crimea.

It offered field training for troops, as well as allowed acting Polish commanders to take charge of allied troops. (ua/rg/rk)
