The Polish Humanitarian Action (PAH) has expanded its aid to civilians who are victims of the conflict in eastern Ukraine.

Currently PAH hands out around 300 meals daily to the elderly people in the vicinity of Donetsk.

In November, around 2,000 people received aid from PAH. They also received blankets and warm clothing for the winter.

The needs of these people are enormous, said Piotr Kołodziej, a PAH mission worker in Ukraine.

“The organisation can help those people who find it hardest to cope – mostly senior citizens who cannot escape from areas of war. PAH works with local canteens. We deliver good-quality food which are prepared for the needy.” (rg/rk)
