The victims were a 41-year-old man and a 53-year-old woman. Six other sailors were rescued and taken straight to hospital.
The tourists were sailing from the British territory of Gibraltar towards Tenerife, the largest of the Canary Islands, when an apparent engine failure left the vessel adrift.
An SOS was sent out to Moroccan coast guards, but severe winds overturned the yacht before the rescuers reached the scene.
It is not known at present whether the surviving sailors were also Polish. (nh/rk)
