“Chinese companies can implement large infrastructure projects in Poland and the region of the Adriatic, the Baltic and Black Sea,” Waszczykowski told the PAP news agency at the end of the visit in the Chinese capital.

The minister discussed possible cooperation with Chinese contractors in the construction of roads, railways and airports in Poland.

"The opportunities for cooperation with China are endless," Waszczykowski said.

He summed the China visit as “important”.

“But we can talk about whether it has brought any concrete results only when the projects which we have proposed to the Chinese, and those which the Chinese proposed to us, are implemented,” Waszczykowski said.

Poland's Foreign Minister was in China for bilateral talks and he confirmed that Prime Minister Beata Szydło will visit China in the coming months.

President of China Xi Jinping will also make an official visit to Poland, Waszczykowski has announced.

The precise dates of both trips have yet to be confirmed.

Waszczykowski met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Tuesday morning, with the talks focusing on strengthening political and economic ties.

The Polish foreign minister said that Poland is looking for new partners to “accelerate development” in Poland, and that China is a “natural partner” in Asia.

Wang Yi commented that “Poland is an important country in the [CEE] region, as well as a strategic partner for China.

“Poland remains the largest trading partner of China in the region of Central and Eastern Europe.” (rg/pk)
