Crimean Tatar chief urges EU embargo on Russian oil

Refat Chubarov, leader of the Crimean Tatar national movement, has called on the European Union to consider imposing a temporary embargo on Russian oil.

The European Parliament is to debate claims of the violation of Crimean Tatars’ rights by Russia on May 12.
Chubarov made the appeal while speaking to Ukraine’s Hromadske TV internet television station on May 8.
Chubarov also urged the EU to disconnect Russia from the international SWIFT banking system. (pk)
