“From the information available, it appears that no Polish citizens were among the victims and injured. The lists are still being checked and supplemented by the Turkish authorities, so we have to wait for their final verification,” Rafał Sobczak, spokesman at the Polish Foreign Ministry, told the PAP news agency.

He added: "Our consular services are in contact with local authorities”.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry has condemned the terrorist attack in Istanbul.

"Attacks against innocent people must not be justified by any ideology or political aims,” the ministry’s statement reads.

The ministry extended condolences to the families of the victims of the attack and of those who suffered injuries, as well as the Turkish authorities.

Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski has sent a message of condolence to his Turkish counterpart Mevlut Cavusoglu.

At least 36 people were killed and more than 140 others were wounded in three separate gun and bomb attacks outside and inside the terminal of Istanbul's Ataturk international airport on 28 June, media reported, quoting officials. (rg/mk/aba/pk)
