“Poland and Japan will soon be celebrating two important anniversaries: 2017 marks 60 years since the resumption of diplomatic relations, and 2019 is the year of the 100th anniversary of establishing those relations,” Dziedziczak said at the meeting, as quoted by the Polish foreign ministry.

“It will be an opportunity to further deepen cooperation between our two countries, and bring our nations even closer together,” Dziedziczak added.

The Polish foreign ministry said Dziedziczak “emphasized that both countries share the same values, and applauded the very good state of Polish-Japanese political relations.”

“This manifested itself during the Polish President’s visit to Japan in February 2015, when bilateral relations were raised to the level of strategic partnership,” the foreign ministry added in a statement.
