One man was killed, and at least three others seriously injured in a number of attacks over the last week in the town of Harlow, southeastern England.

“In connection with the incidents that have occurred in recent days, and which were directed against Polish citizens in the UK, an urgent trip to London is being planned by the Foreign Affairs minister Witold Waszczykowski, Justice minister Zbigniew Ziobro and Internal minister Mariusz Blaszczak,” the Foreign Affairs spokesman told the PAP news agency.

He added on Sunday evening that “the details of the visit are being finalised”.

The latest attack comes just hours after over 700 people gathered in the centre of the city to pay tribute to a Polish man who died after being beaten last week.

According to the police in Essex, two Poles were beaten outside a popular pub in Harlow at around 3:30 am GMT on Sunday. Preliminary investigations indicate that four or five men were involved in beating the two Poles, who were hospitalised with broken bones and bruises.

Both of the men were discharged after a few hours. (rg)
