Warsaw’s authorities claim the Russian Federation owes PLN 16 million (EUR 3.7 million) for the use of two buildings.

Some of the buildings used by Russia in Poland have a clear legal status and Russia either leases or owns them outright.
However, according to Warsaw City Hall, two buildings in Warsaw are being used by Russia without a valid contract.
The authorities in the Polish capital have tried to enforce payment but due to a lack of response from Russia have decided to take legal action.
The case is part of a wider diplomatic spat over diplomatic real estate in both countries.
In 2015, the Arbitration Court of St Petersburg and the Leningrad region issued an order that could result in the eviction of a Polish diplomatic mission for alleged unpaid debt of RUB 74.3 million (EUR 1.1 million).
Poland does not recognize that ruling and considers it in breach of international law. (tf/vz)
