The agreement stipulates that each country would promote and encourage private investment, exchange of information and economic cooperation from the other.

“Thanks to our partnership entrepreneurs from Poland and Senegal will able to cooperate more effectively with full knowledge of investment conditions in both countries and with government support offered through the [two countries’] agencies,” Polish Information and Foreign Investment Agency (PAIiIZ) CEO Tomasz Pisula said.

Polish president Andrzej Duda and his counterpart from Senegal Macky Sall were at the signing at the Presidential Palace in Warsaw.

We are at a stage of economic growth and all activities supporting [Senegal] are very important to us,” Sall said.

He said a priority would be finding partners to modernise agriculture and develop the service industry.

A Polish-Senegalese Economic Forum was also held on Thursday.

During his official visit to Poland, the Senegalese president also expressed support for Poland’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council for 2018-2019.
