Dziedziczak said that presenting the truth about the participation of Poland in WWII is an important factor when building Poland’s security in the information age.

“If opinion-shaping circles perceive us a country that has always behaved nobly, which has always stood on the side of the weak, and implemented the idea of mercy, then we will be treated with sympathy and, should we ever be threatened, it will be easier to get the support of Western countries on the basis of Article 5 of the North Atlantic Treaty,” Dziedziczak said.

He added that Poland is “building historical diplomacy” in order to create the desired image of Poland outside the country, but also to reinforce the confidence of Poles”.

The conference was organised by the Regional Centre for International Debate (RODM) in Warsaw, which was created as a result of a competition announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on the implementation of a public initiative: "Regional Centre for International Debate 2016-2018".

The organisation leading RODM in Warsaw, is the Polish Community Association. (rg)
