“We look eastward with increasing concern that Russia may again enter the path of aggression, and build a new empire. And we would once again become a victim,” Waszczykowski said while addressing a lecture in Dublin, Ireland, on Thursday.

Waszczykowski’s speech at the Dublin-based Institute of International and European Affairs think-tank, was part of a two-day visit in Ireland.

The lecture, entitled “The Role of Europe in an uncertain world – the perspective of the Visegrad Group” presented the priorities of Polish foreign policy, as well as a common agenda for the countries in Central and Eastern Europe.

In his lecture, Waszczykowski said that Poland and the countries of the region who have a similar experience are watching international policy being shaped primarily by “two factors: history and geography”. (rg)
