According to Foreign Minister Witold Waszczykowski, Poland's role in the alliance has grown stronger in the last 12 months.

Waszczykowski said the decisions taken at the July summit, which include increasing the number of NATO troops stationed in Poland, will improve national security.

The foreign minister also said that in 2016, Polish-German relations were intense and successful, pointing to meetings and celebrations marking 25 years of bilateral relations under the two countries' Good Neighbourship treaty. (vb)
