Polish foreign ministry condemns Egypt terrorist attacks

The Polish foreign ministry has condemned Sunday's terrorist attacks which killed at least 44 people during Palm Sunday festivities at two Coptic churches in the north of Egypt.

In a statement, the ministry condemned “all forms of terrorism and violence”.

The ministry expressed its condolences to the people and authorities of Egypt and appealed to Poles living and holidaying in Egypt to exercise extreme care when in the country.

According to the Egyptian Health Ministry, at least 28 were killed and 71 injured in a bomb explosion at Mar Girgis Coptic church in the central delta city of Tanta during the Palm Sunday mass.

On the same day, at least 16 were killed and 35 injured in a bomb explosion at Saint Mark Coptic Cathedral, the historic seat of the Pope of Alexandria the head of the Coptic Orthodox Church during the Palm Sunday mass. (rg)
