The officials are to discuss bilateral relations and the situation of the Polish diaspora in Ukraine.

“We will talk about Ukraine’s EU aspirations, reforms that the country is introducing and visa-free cross-border traffic,” Karczewski said ahead of the visit.

“We will also touch on the issue of the Polish community in Ukraine and their access to Polish lessons,” he added.

During the two-day visit the Polish Senate Speaker is to attend a name-giving ceremony at the Polish Medical Library in Kyiv, held in honour of famous Polish surgeon Zbigniew Religa.

Karczewski will also travel to the Bykivnia military cemetery on the outskirts of Kyiv. (aba/pk)
