Poland is a key partner in security: British defence minister

Britain considers Poland to be a key partner in European security, the country’s Defence Secretary Michael Fallon has said.

He was speaking ahead of Thursday’s meeting of Polish and British foreign and defence ministers in London.

Fallon also said that, despite the UK’s impending departure from the European Union, Polish-British relations were becoming closer than ever and that Poland was seen as a key partner for Britain after its exit from the bloc.

Fallon warned of a threat posed by Russia and Russian propaganda in Europe.

He added that Britain was determined to keep its European security commitments and that security issues were completely independent of ongoing Brexit negotiations. (gs)
