The conference will focus on “exchanging views, experiences, best practices and lessons learned” and will explore cooperative approaches to dealing with increased migration and refugee flows, according to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

Fifty-seven OSCE member states and six partner countries – Algeria, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Morocco, and Tunisia – are to be represented at the event.

Since 2015, the European Union has seen the arrival of, according to some estimates, up to two million migrants and asylum seekers, mainly from Africa and the Middle East.

In Italy, Waszczykowski is also set to meet his Italian counterpart for talks about bilateral and European security. He is also expected to meet his Ukrainian and Israeli counterparts, Pavlo Klimkin and Tzachi Hanegbi. (vb/pk)
