Pavlo Klimkin called the incident a "provocation" designed to prevent a planned visit to Ukraine by Polish President Andrzej Duda.

The incident occurred late on Saturday evening, when what Ukrainian media described as an explosive was tossed under a bus with Polish licence plates parked in front of a hotel not far from Lviv.

Polish diplomats in Ukraine said a group of tourists from Poland had been travelling on the bus. No one was in the vehicle at the time of the incident. The bus’s body and one of its side windows were damaged, according to media reports.

Klimkin wrote on Twitter on Sunday: “Someone is trying hard to pit us against Poland and prevent the [planned] visit of President Andrzej Duda. We will do everything to investigate the circumstances of this incident.”

President Duda is scheduled to visit Ukraine on Wednesday.
