The annual gathering of global political and business leaders in the Swiss Alpine town runs from January 23 to 26.

Polish government spokeswoman Joanna Kopcińska said that Morawiecki would discuss topics including the future of Europe, sustainable economic growth, combating inequality and curbs on tax havens.

Kopcińska added that Morawiecki would also hold talks with other prime ministers about industry and cyber security.

Donald Trump has decided to attend the World Economic Forum this year, in what is to be the first visit by an American president since Bill Clinton came in 2000, according to the Reuters news agency.

Some 350 leaders, including heads of state or government, will take part in the forum, being held under the slogan "Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World."
