Two brothers of Moroccan descent aged 15 and 17 and their 16-year-old Nigerian accomplice were also accused of attacking a pair of Italian tourists and a Peruvian transsexual.

The Nigerian's defence lawyer said the sentence was too high and that an appeal would be lodged.

A fourth attacker, a 20-year-old refugee from Congo, was sentenced last year to 16 years in jail. (vb/pk)
