Orban’s ruling Fidesz party secured a third successive term with a strong mandate in Sunday’s parliamentary elections.

Morawiecki tweeted that "the path of reform is never easy" but that “the support of the majority of society shows that this effort is worth making.”

He also wished Orban “nothing but success, for Hungary and for Europe” in his new term.

With 96.24 percent of ballots counted by Monday morning, official election data projected Fidesz and its Christian Democrat coalition partner KDNP winning a two-thirds majority in the country's parliament.
