Beata Kempa, the country’s minister for humanitarian aid, said Poland last year allocated PLN 181 million for humanitarian aid and almost PLN 590 million for development projects.

The resulting total of over PLN 770 million (EUR 180 million, USD 212 million) was some PLN 357 million more than in 2016.

Kempa was speaking during an international conference on Wednesday at the Prime Minister's Office in Warsaw entitled Polish Humanitarian Aid: Needs - Challenges - Action.

Kempa said that Poland provided assistance in countries which have taken in refugees, such as Lebanon and Jordan, as well as in nations like Syria which are experiencing armed conflict.
