International efforts to eliminate hunger are vital for world peace, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Tuesday.

Duda was speaking in Rome at a session of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations on World Food Day.
Duda said that environmental protection was an inseparable part of efforts to eliminate the problem of hunger.
He added that an ongoing battle by the international community to eliminate hunger was a prerequisite for world peace.
Duda also said in Rome he hoped that talks at a major climate change summit in Poland this December would result in a “declaration of solidarity.”
Poland’s environment ministry earlier this year announced a new project to reduce food waste.
