Author Marek Krajewski, whose racy novels have been translated into 14 languages, confirmed the news on his official Facebook profile.

According to Krajewski, the four-part mini-series will be an international production.

However, he confessed that he “doesn't have the slightest idea” who will play Mock, although he joked that Kevin Spacey (who Holland is set to direct in House of Cards) would make a suitable lead.

Most of Krajewski's Mock novels are set in the inter-war German city of Breslau (today the Polish city of Wroclaw), although he later took the inspector Polish Lwow (today Lviv in Ukraine.) However, the first series will be purely focused on the Breslau tales.

Although best known for feature films such as Europa Europa, Washington Square and The Secret Garden, Holland has directed episodes of major TV series such as The Wire and The Killing. (nh)
