An exhibition of posters to films by the Polish director Krzysztof Kieslowski has opened in India as a fringe event of the International Film Festival in Goa.

The exhibition consists of sixty posters to Kieslowski’s most successful films by graphic artists from Poland, Spain, Italy, Japan, Korea, Denmark, Russia, Germany, Britain and France.

A retrospective of Kieslowski’s feature films is in the programme of the festival, including the entire ‘Decalogue’ series.

Next month, the Kieslowski exhibition will be shown in Delhi. In recent years, it had been displayed in Berlin, Budapest, Paris, Toronto, Jerusalem, Trondheim in Norway and Singapore.

Kieslowski, who died in 1996 at the age of fifty four, was among the most influential Polish film makers. He achieved worldwide critical and popular acclaim for ‘The Decalogue’ series, which has been sold to 75 countries, ‘The Double Life of Veronique’ and ‘The Three Colours’ trilogy. (mk/jb)
