He is the soloist in a performance of Beethoven’s 'Third Piano Concerto' by the Warsaw Philharmonic, conducted by its Music Director Jacek Kaspszyk. The programme also includes Beethoven’s 'Symphony No. 5'.

The concert has generated an enormous interest among Polish music lovers.

It is almost ten years since Blechacz’s spectacular victory in the 15th International Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

At 30, he is now among the world’s most sought-after pianists, with many prestigious honours to his credit, including the Gilmore Artist Award, which he received in 2014.

His discography, under an exclusive contract with Deutsche Grammophon, includes CDs featuring Chopin’s Preludes, Polonaises, and a selection of Nocturnes, as well as works by Karol Szymanowski, Debussy, Haydn, Beethoven and Mozart. (mk/nh)
