Polish capital Warsaw wins place on Monopoly board in online vote

Poland’s capital city of Warsaw has been added to the world’s most popular board game, Monopoly, the municipal office said on Thursday.

The game, first produced in 1935, selected the cities to feature in its new edition through an online vote.
Warsaw collected over 100,000 votes out of 4 million overall, coming in sixth globally, ahead of London and Moscow.
“I am convinced that the presence on the board of the new edition of the game Monopoly will translate into even greater tourist interest in our city,” Mayor Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz was quoted as saying in a press release. (an)
