Cinemas offer cut-price tickets for Polish hits

Selected cinemas across Poland are offering cut-price tickets to some of the finest Polish films of recent years in an action backed by the National Cultural Centre.

The programme, which begins on 30 April, is part of the Accessible Culture initiative (Kultura Dostępna), which promotes various strands of Polish culture.

Tickets to a number of award-winning and critically acclaimed films can be purchased for PLN 10 until the end of the year, with 33 cities and towns across Poland taking part.

The first movie in the programme is Paweł Pawlikowski’s Oscar-winning Ida, followed by Cold War spy thriller Jack Strong on 7 May.

Other movies in the programme include Jan Komasa’s WWII epic Warsaw 44, Borys Lankosz’s thriller A Grain of Truth and 2014’s winner at the Polish box office, Łukasz Palkowski’s Gods.
