Poland triumphs in Odyssey of the Mind creative challenge

Polish schoolchildren won nine medals – including five golds – in the 36th Odyssey of the Mind creative competition held in East Lansing, USA.

The coompetition, which was set up in the 1970s in the USA by Dr C. Samuel Micklus, is an educational programme which challenges school pupils with creative problem solving.
The Polish edition of the competition has been organised since 1992, with some 20,000 schoolchildren taking part since then.
This year’s edition saw 8,000 pupils take part, with 800 teams from the US, Mexico, China, India, Japan, a host of European countries, including Poland.
Poland was represented by 36 teams, totalling around 300 schoolchildren. (jb)
