A handwritten register and four newspapers from the date the cross was placed on the steeple in Oborniki were found in the time capsule.

The register included the names of the builders and aspects of the church's history that had been found in information left by other craftsmen prior to 1883.

The time capsule itself had “Kloss” and “Grozmann” engraved in it; the first being the tinsmith that worked on the roofing and the latter the mason that created the tower.

The church was destroyed in the early 19th century and was rebuilt in 1832; however, the cross was not placed on the steeple until later.

The parish priest will continue the apparent tradition and has asked the parish committee and a local historian to gather information for future generations. (ua/nh/rk)
