Łódź is reaching out to residents of Warsaw inconvenienced by increased security surrounding the ongoing NATO summit by inviting them to pop over for the weekend.

The promotional team behind Łódź’s Facebook page decided to use the fact that the Polish capital is currently one of the best guarded cities in the world, and therefore one of the most annoying for its residents, to promote the charms of Poland third-largest city, only 135km away from Warsaw.

Warsaw residents are, for example, encouraged to visit Łódź by Polish king Sigismund III Vasa, who, in a humorous photo montage showing that he has apparently left his usual place atop Warsaw’s iconic landmark Sigismund's Column in Castle Square, left behind a sign: "In Łódź. Coming back Sunday. -Sigismund". The image can be seen on Łódź’s Facebook profile. (mol/pk)
