Among the winners of the other competitions were the French production "Toril" (Competition 1-2) and "Communion" by Polish director Anna Zamecka (Best Documentary Feature).

The winners of the festival contests were announced on Saturday.

“The social context of 'Malaria' is very important to us. We had noticed that few films in the competition spoke about a concrete subject, and contributed to the fact that the world changed for the better. We saw a lack of socially involved cinema,” Maria Sadowska, one of the members of the jury of the International Competition, told the PAP news agency. (rg)
