The move will provide “more comprehensive protection of Poland’s film heritage,” the ministry said.
The new institute in Warsaw comprises the National Film Library and the National Audiovisual Institute, which were merged by the ministry.
It will digitalize films from the former National Film Library’s collection.
Its main aim will be to educate Poles in visual culture and promote Polish cinematography.
