The programme of the six-week event includes all of Mozart’s stage works, as well as the Requiem, the C minor Mass and a selection of his symphonic and chamber works.

Mozart’s most popular operas – The Magic Flute, Don Giovanni, The Abduction from the Seralgio and Cosi fan tutte - are presented several times.

Held for the 21st successive year, the Mozart Festival is the brainchild of Stefan Sutkowski, the director of the Warsaw Chamber Opera, who came up with the idea of producing all of Mozart’s stage works for the 200th anniversary of the composer’s death in 1991.

In addition to the Warsaw Chamber Opera House, the festival venues include the Seminary Church, the Royal Castle, the Wilanow Palace and the Lazienki Park.
The Festival lasts till 26 July. (mk)
