Delegates to a conference of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in Azerbaijan have opted, in a secret ballot, for Saemangeum in South Korea instead.

The WOSM is the world’s largest non-governmental organisation. Its jamborees, held every four years, attract up to 50,000 scouts from across the world.

The first jamboree was held in 1920 in London. The last one was in Japan in 2015. In 2019, the event will be held in the United States. (mk/pk)
