Polish students - modest spenders?

The average Polish student spends around PLN 1,600 (EUR 375, USD 450) a month, according to a report by the Polish Bank Association.

The association’s Przemysław Barbrich said that the figure is modest compared to students in other European countries: those in Sweden, for instance, are the biggest spenders, with outgoings the equivalent of PLN 5,500 a month.
Meanwhile, Poland has nearly 400 public and private universities and colleges, with nearly 400,000 students enrolled, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Barbrich said that nearly four in ten Polish students live with their parents.
But for those who rent rooms, accommodation costs account for almost 40 percent of their budget.
