While presenting the awards at a ceremony in Warsaw on Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Culture Minister Piotr Gliński said that public funds were being channeled to support “outstanding people who will contribute to the development of Polish culture.”

The scholarships, worth PLN 3.9 million (EUR 920,000, USD 1.15 million) in total, were presented to 97 up-and-coming talents in fields such as film, photography, literature, music and visual arts.

The awards were handed out as part of the 15th round of the culture ministry’s "Young Poland" Scholarship Programme, which benefits people up to the age of 35 who boast outstanding achievements in various disciplines.
