Visitors will be able to find out at a new exhibition opening on Friday in the southwestern German city of Karlsruhe.

The show is called "Through the Soundproof Curtain. The Polish Radio Experimental Studio.”

It aims to introduce Western European audiences to work produced by an innovative studio run by the Polish public broadcaster from 1957 to 2004.

"Music for half the science-fiction cinema in communist-era Poland and for many productions in Central and Eastern Europe was created at this centre,” said Michał Mendyk from Poland’s Adam Mickiewicz Institute, a joint organiser of the exhibition.

The exhibition is being staged at the Center for Art and Media in Karlsruhe for six months.
