City and regional authorities hope the competition will attract prominent architects from Poland and abroad.

The planned Music Centre, to be located close to the Vistula River, is to consist of three concert halls, seating 1,400, 650-800 and 270-300, rehearsal rooms, recording studios, educational facilities and restaurants.

The centre is to become home for the city’s main orchestras: the Karol Szymanowski Philharmonic, the Capella Cracoviensis and the Sinfonietta Cracovia.

The results of the competition are to be announced in December. The project is to be completed by 2024.
