Among the acts which gave a combined 11 hours of concerts were Monika Brodka, Coma, Fisz Emade Tworzywo, Kortez, Tomasz Organek and Andrzej Smolik.

"An absolute record was made … throughout the day, more than 100,000 people took part in the exceptional musical event," Gdynia Mayor Wojciech Szczurek said at the end of the concert.

Meanwhile, Polish Radio’s acting CEO Andrzej Rogoyski said: "A magical city, magical performers, a magical crowd, what more do you need to have a fantastic time."

The concerts were the climax of the Summer with the Radio festival which kicked off in Gdynia on Friday, featuring opportunities to rub shoulders with Polish celebrities, music workshops, a magic show, and story time for the youngest of festival-goers.

Much of the festival was broadcast across Polish Radio’s channels.

The festival accompanied the Summer with the Radio programme which has been aired on Polish Radio every vacation since 1971. (vb)
