0.4 percent rise in November jobless rate

According to preliminary findings by Poland’s Ministry of Labour, unemployment rose from 12.5 to 12.9 percent in November.
An extra 64,000 signed as jobless last month, says the ministry, a 0.4 percent rise, month-on-month.
The Labour ministry says that there were 48,700 vacancies for jobs last month, a fall of 18 percent compared to October.
The unemployment rate is expected to rise still further in December, to between 13.2 to 13.3 percent, due to a suspension of construction sector over the winter months, the deputy labor minister said Thursday.(pg)
