Adam Struzik, the local Mazovia province governor confirmed that plans of a partial sale of the company Port Lotniczy Mazowsze Warszawa-Modlin Sp. z o.o, have already been prepared.
“I think we will definitely be looking for a private investor. At this point we are talking about a partial sale, but once the runway reopens we are thinking of offering the whole company up for sale,” he told Polish Radio.
The airport, opened last July as a hub for Wizz Air and Ryanair, was closed in December after cracks appeared on the runway.
The airport’s management says the runway repairs will be completed by 18 June and expects to reopen the airport for low-cost airline traffic in July. (di/pg)
