Polish industrial output up 5.3 percent

Poland's industrial output rose by 5.3 percent in February compared with the same month in 2013, Eurostat has estimated.

The official statistics body of the EU found that industrial production went up by 1.7 percent across the entire EU.
All of the best year-on-year results for February were made by Central and Eastern European countries.
Slovakia led the field, with an increase of 9 percent, followed by Romania with 8.9 percent, Hungary at 8.2 percent, the Czech Republic at 6.7 percent , Bulgaria at 6.5 percent, and then Poland at 5.3 percent.
Lithuania and Latvia bucked the CEE trend, with the former posting the third biggest year-on-year decrease for February, with -2.1 percent, while Latvia saw a drop of -1.7 percent. (nh)
